My Top Oscar Wilde Quotes

Perhaps not a lot of people know Oscar Wilde. Some avid readers may know him, some may not. I personally am a fan of his works, especially his epigrams. Here we take some time to read some of his works, and for you to know my top choices.

A brief background on the man:

"Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, plays and the circumstances of his imprisonment, followed by his early death."

Mr.Wilde has been one of the influential personalities in my life, primarily due to his broad knowledge of things, with a touch of humor in his works. There are a lot of quotes to his credit, and here are my top quotes, arranged in no particular order of importance. Source

For love and relationships:
  • Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, emnity, worship, love, but no friendship
  • Men always want to be a woman's first love - women like to be a man's last romance
  • Women begins by resisting a man's advances and ends by blocking his retreat

For friends/enemies and people in general:

  • True friends stab you in the front
